Plants for sale

Local plants for local people

Sometimes I have to get out of the house and meet people. You know how it is, stuck in the house day in day out with only Beanz for company?

Anyway, I also run an annual event called ‘Seedy Saturday‘. It’s a seed swap that’s currently held in Farmborough Memorial Hall on the second Saturday of March. The basic premise is that you save some seed, bring it along and swap it for some other types of seed with your fellow gardening types, plus there are some excellent stalls of local traders, groups and enterprises to browse. You see, it doesn’t just help me to get out of the house and away from the voices in my head, but it can help you too.

Look at the crowds queuing to snap up those plants!

I also take the seeds from the swap on a mini-roadshow. This year I’ll have been at Farmborough Church Fayre, the Farmborough Flower Show Coffee Morning and the Farmborough Village Day (can you see a pattern here?).

In addition I am also available for talks about anything seedy and will be giving a talk at the Mendip Gardening Club in Ston Easton on Wednesday 19 October entitled “Saving Seeds – new ways to think about seed and growing”.

I hope to see you at an event soon. Say hello and don’t forget to mention Get Seedy!

If you would like to book me for your event, please get in touch.
